So, you want to do a background check.

Background checking for whitelists is one of the most important factors in determining if an applicant is going to fit into our community. Please refer to this guide anytime you are doing a background check on a potential new player.

The most important things we want to verify about a new applicant are:

• Username: We want to check if the player has any previous bans or negative marks against them. Do they hack? cheat? use exploits?
• Age: Our server is 18+ and Discord is 13+ so we want to make sure that
  • Players are 18 or over to play on our server
  • Players who are under 13 are removed from the server, so that we do not break Discord’s TOS.
• Personality: Will the player fit in on our server? Are they racist? homophobic? negative in other ways?

A background search should take all three things into consideration.

Usually a background check consists of a few simple things:

• Checking NameMC for previous usernames to search (and to make sure name is correct)
• Discord Profile for Social media links
• Google Search for references to the player on social media and other websites
