Discipline With Dignity

Punishments dealt to players should never be embarrassing. The goal should never be to publicly shame or otherwise humiliate a player. Punishments are black and white actions as a result of a player breaking the rules. Please do not wait for a player to be online to ban them, in the guise of “sending a message” or using it as an opportunity to display your powers. Players should be punished as soon as an appropriate punitive measure has been decided on by you or others.

It is also not appropriate to goad or tease a player beforehand. This does not include warnings to players, but if you are going to ban/kick a player, it should not be flaunted beforehand.

Players will often ask what happened to a player and why, after they are punished. Do not expose extra details of the punishment to non-staff members.

<aside> 🚨 It is our policy that only the rule that was broken be announced and not specifically how.

Consistency

It is an important policy at Dominion that all players are treated equally, and that includes our punishment system. Put simply, the punishment for broken rules should remain consistent with that of all other punishments made by members of the staff team.

Below is a list of each rule, and how a player should be treated if that rule is broken:

1️⃣ RESPECT

2️⃣ GRIEFING

3️⃣ HACKING

4️⃣ EXPLOITS

5️⃣ AUTOCLICKING

6️⃣ ADVERTISING

7️⃣ LAG PREVENTION

8️⃣ ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNTS

9️⃣ ILLEGAL CONTENT

1️⃣1️⃣ COMMUNITY REQUIREMENTS

A more detailed look at our rules can be found on the Rules & Guidelines page.

Clear Communication

When a player is banned or kicked, it is important that it is clear to them why they were punished. Always provide a reason for punishment in the command you execute on a player. They will see this message when they attempt to connect. It will allow them to understand why, and then help them proceed with an appeal if they wish to.

When warning a player, be clear what rule/s they are breaking and what the punishment will be if it continues.

When kicking/banning a player, be specific about why they were banned in the command description. This is what they will see when they try to connect.

Evidence

At Dominion, evidence is a required prerequisite to punishment. We do not issue a punishment to any player without evidence proving guilt beyond reasonable doubt. Whenever possible, record evidence of players whom you plan to take punitive action against. Please be mindful that it is our policy that any and all evidence is freely given to players who are punished for transparency.
