In order to ensure we are being fair and equal to all players, please follow the following steps when banning a player. The following should only be conducted by a Moderator or higher.
<aside> 🚨 This guide is assuming that enough evidence has already been collected, and a decision to ban a player has already been made by the entire team. Please do not proceed with this guide until that has taken place.
</aside>
It is our policy that any banned player is given any and all evidence against them prior to their appeal. All evidence should be compiled into a google document that will be provided to the banned player. You can make a copy of the formatting we use here.
When compiling screenshots and video evidence, please pay special attention to the content to ensure that Staff Chat and confidential communication is not present. You may crop screenshots and cut recordings to remove confidential information only.
Under each entry in the document, provide context that the player can understand. For example, CoreProtect logs may not show which base a player stole from, or the name of a player they griefed. The goal is to help the banned player understand our evidence as much as possible.
If the player has not already been banned, please follow the following command structure in-game to do so:
/ban <player> <reason>
Example:
/ban ItsWilven Rule 2: Griefing - Stealing from multiple shops and player bases
The reason given should be the rule broken and minor context. The player will see this reason listed when they attempt to connect to our server after being banned.
<aside> ℹ️ Anything typed will eternally be public on plan.dominionserver.net (Admins may alter this message if necessary) so please be aware of this. Remember our Discipline With Dignity policy when writing these messages and only include as much information as is required and prioritise giving information privately to spreading information publicly.

Banned players may appeal via Discord however whilst they are in their banned position the only channel they need to type within is the appeals channel. For this to occur they need to no longer have any roles other than the Muted role.
Firstly within the #staff-commands channel under the staff category perform the following commands:
/mute <user>
Example:
/mute @Lord_Bones
Next ensure that they are no longer verified:
/**role remove <user> @VERIFIED
**
Example:
/role remove @Lord_Bones#1337 @VERIFIED
A question might be why do the staff need to both mute and remove verified? This is simply to ensure that if they leave the Discord and return there is no method of them gaining access to channels they otherwise should not have access to.
The following template has been provided to make it easier to structure DMs sent to offending players. Please note that every scenario is unique, and you will be expected to tailor your DM to whatever the given scenario is. However, this should be a great baseline:
<aside> 🗒️ *Hi @player,
I am DMing you to inform you that you have been banned from the Dominion community and servers.
Reason For Your Ban <insert the rules broken and minor context. Their evidence document will provide the rest>
Evidence Collected The following document is provided to you which includes all evidence of the above offense. <link evidence document>
How To Appeal
If you believe that this ban was incorrect or unjustified, we allow all players to appeal. To do so, please visit the #⛔|appeals
channel on our Discord server. The pinned posts contain instructions as well as a template you will be required to use.
If you have any further questions regarding your Ban, please reach out to an Admin and they will be happy to further discuss this with you.
If you choose not to appeal, we wish you the best in your future Minecraft endeavors.*
