Considering becoming a shop owner? Dominion is home to many lucrative businesses owned by members of the community. Below you can read about the basics of attaining and maintaining a shop.
While our shopping district is a lucrative open market for all players, we do have restrictions in place to ensure it is as fair as possible for everyone.
It is highly encouraged to review our Rule #12 Shopping District rule prior to exploring becoming a shop owner. You can find this rule via our Rules & Guidelines page.
Any new shop, or change to a shop, requires a support ticket to be submitted via the #📝｜tickets channel.
When you click a shop ticket button (denoted by their blue color), a channel will be created for you. In this new channel, there will be a form you are required to complete and submit in that channel. Once your form has been received, a staff member will be happy to assist you in finalizing any changes.
They may ask you to expand/clarify some sections, suggest changes, or ask you to confirm you have read and understood all of our Shopping District rules.
To prevent players from claiming too much land too quickly, you may only have one new shop ticket open at any time.
Dominion does not use a strict plot system, meaning that theoretically you can open a shop anywhere in spawn provided there is space. If you find an open space that looks great for your shop, you can open a New Shop ticket and ask if it can be claimed.
Some empty plots are also denoted by a sign saying something similar to "This plot is free. Open a ticket to claim!". These plots can be claimed by anybody at any time.
These plots are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so the first player to open a ticket for it will get the plot.
Another common way to become an owner of a plot is to buy it or be given it by another player.
Shops that are both gifted or sold must be handed over by opening a Change in Ownership ticket on the Dominion Discord under the "Apps and Tickets" section. Complete the form there to transfer the ownership.
Resale/Co-Ownership Policy
<aside> 🚨 [1]: All ownerships are equal. Every name listed as an owner has equal rights to any decision, change, and profits. This includes decisions to sell and/or add new owners later. An owner cannot be removed unless they choose to leave or have been absent for 60+ days, at which point the other owners can request their removal.
[2]: New owners own a plot outright. There are no partial deals or long term deals. If you sell your shop/plot you hold no stake in any aspect of it whatsoever.

From time to time, shops are reclaimed due to inactivity from the owner. In those circumstances, the existing shop is reclaimed and a lottery is held for the plot.
This is announced in the #🛒｜plot-lottery channel, along with the location and time frame to enter the lottery. More information/rules can be found in the lectern located at every lottery site.

Shops Owned will be based on whichever player owns/co-owns the most shops in total.
